On joining the YAS, you have a choice of becoming a full or an Associate members. All members have borrowing rights for a small fee, they will also receive copies of the Society newsletter, Update, a programme of events, information about the Annual General meeting, and full members will additionally receive a copy of Yorkshire Archaeological Journal when published, usually every year. Membership runs from 1st January to 31st December each year, Membership Cards, with a unique number, are issued with the spring mailing in April/May. We can also send Update by email. More immediate news is sent out by email (at the members request) and through the web site which all members can access. It is hoped to set up a 'Members Only' section in the near future. This area will contain information of specific information relevant to members.

Borrowing
In order to comply with HMCR rules on Gift Aid borrowing rights are no longer included in membership subscriptions. All members may borrow up to 6 books at a time for a period of 3 months on payment of an annual fee of £1 to the librarian. Please do not send borrowing fees along with membership fees, but pay the Librarian on duty.
