Counting Sheep! Talk at the Folly, 7 Sept 2013

Fountains Abbey Stock BookOne of the YAS's treasures, the Fountains Abbey stock book, is currently on display at The Folly in Settle, North Yorks, as part of the YAS's exhibition 'Family Stories: 150 years of discovery with the Yorkshire Archaeological Society'. This impressive document bound in parchment contains 15th-century live stock accounts for the Abbey lands. It was conserved by West Yorkshire Archive Service's Conservation department as part of the Heritage Lottery Funded Bradfer-Lawrence Collection project in 2004.

On Sat 7 September Shirley Jones from WYAS will talk about how this item was carefully conserved.
