For a decade from 1904, the Robin Hood’s Bay artist J. Ulric Walmsley produced 36 views of the local coast, which were published as postcards. The Walmsley Society has brought out a new edition of these wonderful works of art, introduced and described by YAHS’s very own Jane Ellis. The paintings serve as a record of a lost world of quiet coastal villages.
The book makes a lovely gift – available from Jane for just £5.99 in person, or £6.99 either by post or via Paypal through the website. Cheques to The Walmsley Society, sent to Jane at 55 Red Hall Drive, Leeds LS14 1EJ.
