Browsing the shop
Our shop offers a range of publications, items and services for sale.
You can browse the shop by selecting a category from the menu on the left hand side of the screen and then clicking on a title for more details, or using the search box on the top right hand corner of the screen. Our shop contains copies of all (in-print) Yorkshire Archaeological Society publications and a selection of local history books by other small publishers.
To purchase an item select 'add to cart.' If you would like to purchase more than one of the same item you can change the number of items to add to the cart. Once you have placed an item in your shopping cart you can chose either to check out your order or return to the shop to browse or purchase another item. Once you have registered for an account items will remain in your cart until you buy them or delete them.
You can add as many items to your cart as you wish. However, if you wish to place a large order you need to contact us on email@example.com as we cannot ship items weighing over 5kg in one package.
Membership of the YAHS can be purchased through our shop. However, membership renewals for existing members should be made through the 'online payments' section of the main YAS website. This facility should also be used for paying for archive and library photocopies and for other YAS services such as research and photocopying.
Please check the items in your cart and the quantities are correct before checking out your order. If you wish to change the quantity of a particular product once it has been added to your cart you can change the quantity by changing the number and hitting the blue refresh arrows.
To remove an item from you cart press the bin/trash can icon on the right of the product listing.
Checking out your order
Once you have placed all your purchases in your shopping cart, and you are happy with your order you can check out your order.
Below the contents of your cart you will see a shipping estimate facility. Use the drop-down menu to select your location (press 'update' for a new shipping estimate). In addition to shipping costs a fee of £0.50 will be added to your order to cover the cost of packaging materials.
All UK orders will be posted 2nd class via Royal Mail unless otherwise specified by the customer. For overseas orders customers will have a choice of Airmail or Surface Mail. Please note that there is a 2kg limit for orders to Canada.
The Yorkshire Archaeological & Historical Society is a non-commercial organisation and our Sales Office is not staffed full time, but we endeavour to get your order to you as soon as possible. If you require a swift delivery or require your order to be sent by a method other than those above please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org Please note that we cannot be held responsible for circumstances outside our control which may affect your order such as adverse weather conditions, postal delays or staff sickness.
There is no postage fee if you wish to collect your order from Claremont.
There is no shipping charge for downloads.

Step 1: Delivery Information
The shop will use the delivery address supplied when you registered for an account. If you wish to use another address please use the 'change address' function.
Select a shipping method.
If you are not collecting your order from Claremont please check that you have selected the correct postage country. You are responsible for selecting the correct postage.
Enter any special instructions about your order in the 'Special Instructions or Comments About Your Order' box.

Step 2: Payment Information
Choose a payment option. You have the choice of paying by cheque/money order in pounds sterling or by debit/credit card through PayPal.
Please note orders will not be dispatched until payment has been received. We endeavour to dispatch orders as soon as possible but our Sales Office is not staffed full time. For more information see Shipping & Returns.
If you have chosen to pay by debit/credit card you will be redirected to the PayPal website. You do not need to register with PayPal. For more information on paying with PayPal see www.paypal.com. Please note that the Yorkshire Archaeological Society is not responsible for the processing of payments. If you have a problem with a payment through PayPal you need to contact PayPal directly.

Step 3: Order confirmation
You have the final opportunity to edit your order before confirming it.
Once you have confirmed your order you will receive an email confirming the details of your order.
Your order will be dispatched on receipt of payment. We endeavour to dispatch orders as soon as possible but our sales office is not staffed full-time so we appreciate your patience. For more information see Shipping & Returns. Once your order has been shipped you will receive an email notifying you of this.
Downloads are available immediately if you pay by PayPal. After paying by PaylPal you will be taken back to the shop where you can download the file straight away by clicking the 'download now' button. You will also be able to return to download it at a later date by signing back into your account. If you are paying by cheque the file will not be available until we have received your payment, so you will need to wait until you receive an email notifying you that that status of your order has been changed to 'processing' before you can sign into your account and download the file.
