RAS Swaledale visit - directions

RAS visit to The Hagg, High Fremington - Saturday, July 14th, 2018

Directions and Parking

From Grinton follow the B6270 across the bridge. At the Bike Centre the road bends round to the left, immediately after which there is a right turn by the bus shelter (signposted Hurst / Marske).
or
From Reeth follow the B6270 down to Reeth bridge and along the road to Fremington. Just after the large walled house on the left, there is a left turn by the bus shelter (signposted Marrick / Hurst).

Follow this lane along and uphill, ignoring the right turning signposted Marrick Priory, for about 1km. As the lane bends sharply to the right there is the entrance to a farm track on the left hand side (hopefully marked by flags). Take this track through a gateway to the parking area. If the gate is closed please ensure that you close it behind you. You will know that you have gone too far up the hill if you pass a large wooden barn on your left.

There will be a portaloo in the parking area, but there are no facilities on site (although there are trees and walls).

We are asked to give some idea of numbers, so could you please let Jo Heron know if you intend going, and if you are able to offer a lift? Thanks.
