Our magazine, Briefing, is one of the benefits of being a member. It is produced twice a year.
We hope it will keep members up to date with the latest news, both within your Society and also with events in archaeology and history in Yorkshire.
Briefing is not a peer-reviewed publication like the Journal - it is informal and accessible. Featured topics include Society projects and section news, archaeological finds and research, landscape and planning news, challenging opinion pieces, historical and technological matters, conferences and other events, recently published books and articles - anything of interest to members who have an interest in Yorkshire's past.
Our authors are often national authorities, but we also welcome contributions from less well-known writers!
Briefing is normally circulated as a .pdf file, but if you prefer you can opt to receive it in hard copy form. When you join the Society you will receive a copy of the latest edition and further issues as they are published.
You are welcome to download past issues here -
