Saturday Morning Lectures at the Swarthmore Education Centre

Please note that all these lectures will take place on Saturday mornings on the dates listed and start at 11:00 a.m. unless otherwise indicated.

Lectures will take place at the Swarthmore Education Centre, 2-7 Woodhouse Square, Leeds LS3 1AD.

Free archaeology short courses for adults: Session 3 Building Recording

These free workshops are a great opportunity to learn from Wessex archaeologists about professional methodologies and research practices used within archaeology. 

In this course we will be undertaking an introduction to the archaeology of historic buildings. The workshop will start with a presentation which will cover the following:
• What is buildings archaeology?
• Why do we do it?
• Types of structures
• Survey techniques
• Creating a record.
