Yorkshire Dales: exhibition and events

  • Posted On: 10 June 2018

Dropped in at the Dales Countryside Museum to see their exhibition relating to the Hartley and Ingilby celebration. It's well worth a visit - YAHS archival images and research notes meet text, and meet the objects which founded the museum and form part of the classic book.

The exhibition runs at Hawes until 3 July, and then transfers to The Folly at Settle, opening there on 10 July. June and July are peak season for events - walks, talks, demonstrations. Here's the programme. Go while the sun's shining!

YAHS's anniversary edition of Life and Tradition in the Yorkshire Dales is now the museum's best seller - it's the book of the museum collection, so should keep selling.

The museum's permanent displays have been extended since I was last there in winter, and there's still some work in progress. It's quite a gem.
