Well, the series started this morning on Radio Leeds - but it turned out that an outside broadcast from Castle Hill, Almondbury, wasn't the greatest idea on the coldest March day ever recorded. So they retreated to the studio, and you can catch up with the programme on iPlayer. Here's the link.
Inevitably a lot of weather news cuts into the programme, but I've caught the Huddersfield and District Archaeological Society (approx 14 minutes in), and our very own Ian Roberts talking about his recent dig at Castle Hill (c. 35 mins); then Prof Rupert Till on Stone Age (1hr 15 min). There were also interviews about the BBC Civilisations exhibition at Leeds Central Library, including maps showing how Leeds has changed over the centuries.
Monday (9 till 12) is Romans and Vikings, from Wakefield Museum; Tuesday medieval from Kirkstall; Wednesday Tudor to Stuart, East Riddlesden Hall; Thursday Georgians from Harewood. More YAHS members to come, including David Cant on Wednesday.
