A great day at Armley Mills

  • Posted On: 12 March 2018

Fantastic day at Armley Mills on Saturday - an audience of 70 heard talks on Leeds industrial history: the Middleton Railway, the steam engine builders J & H McLaren, early engineering in Leeds, and the little-known but very important tanning industry. Also a lunchtime demonstration of YIHO. Thanks to Robert, Jane, Bill, and the staff of Leeds Industrial Museum.

We are hoping this is just the first of a collaboration between YAHS and the museum. There is certainly a big public appetite for industrial history.
