A conference to mark the one hundredth anniversary of the birth of archaeologist and historian Professor Maurice Beresford (1920-2005).
The conference will celebrate Professor Beresford's work on what were once called deserted medieval villages and highlight some aspects of more recent study of medieval rural settlements under the title 'Lost Villages Found'.
Saturday 23rd October 2021, from 2.00 to 5.30 pm, to be facilitated by Zoom.
There will be a charge of £10 (or £5 for YAHS Medieval Studies Section members) and all conference participants will receive a copy of a special edition of Medieval Yorkshire with a focus on Professor Beresford including reprints of some of his ground-breaking articles, and an introduction by Dr Helen Fenwick.
