Congratulations to Professor Vince Gaffney, now M.B.E., Anniversary Chair in Landscape Archaeology at the University of Bradford, for services to scientific research. The explorer of Doggerland, he has made digital archaeology a whole new thing!

And of course our warmest congratulations to Mary Beard, of the University of Cambridge, now a Dame, for services to classical civilisation.
