Exploring Yorkshire Landscapes 6 April 2019

  • Posted On: 7 April 2019

The one-day conference organised by our Prehistory Research Section, the East Riding Archaeology Society and others attracted a full-house of 120 to the University of Hull.  Speakers shared memories of their friend and collaborator the late Tony Pacitto, whilst exploring the progress made in the development of archaeological survey techniques from the early days of aerial photography and ground-based equipment in all of which Pacitto played an important part, to 'lidar' and the use of drones.   Together, these techniques have revealed, and continue to reveal new sites and insights into Yorkshire's archaeology.  Fulsome thanks are due to the organisers, contributors and the audience for making the day a great success.
